My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful boy could be called Mighty Joe as he is currently sitting at 100 pounds of love! He is a five-year-old black lab mix. MARLEY JOE was surrendered to an animal shelter in Texas due to his family moving into an apartment. This sweet boy spent his whole life with humans that loved him, and then had his world turned upside down in an instant. Since breaking out of doggy jail and settling in at his foster’s home, MARLEY JOE has been nothing but joyful and grateful!

Even while he was with the shelter, he was described as “dainty and gentle”! A true love bug! MARLEY JOE is potty trained. He is playful and sweet! He is good on a leash too! His foster siblings love to jump into the pond to cool off and MJ is so close to following them right in. For right now he’s content dipping his toes in along the shore while he waits for them to get out and start a game of chase again.

MARLEY JOE is ready for his next family to love him forever! Let’s give him the happy ending he deserves!

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
