My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apple (Albert)
Our Wayward Rabbit Who Requires an Audience

Apple is not a cuddler.
Apple is not a lap bunny.

Do you need some spice in your life? Have your days been a little mundane? Apple is your one rabbit reality show. This rabbit provides top tier entertainment, a true performance artist!
By day, Apple enjoys long naps & hibernation sessions. Sunrise & sunsets he reboots, springing to life with zoomies, investigative missions, and a strong desire to confirm that YOU are watching him!

Apple thrives when he has an audience. His foster mom has perfected the technique: sit against the wall, scroll on your phone, pretend Apple doesn’t exist. This IMMEDIATLY activates him. He'll repeatedly pop his head up, making intense eye contact to verify you’re still watching. Once confirmed, the performance continues. Occasionally, he’ll hop over to sniff or lick your shoes, then dash off like he has very important rabbit business elsewhere.

He’s curious and loves exploring his environment. Thankfully, he has inexpensive taste. Cardboard boxes, paper grocery bags stuffed with hay or wadded paper, TP rolls, dig boxes with scattered hay and a few Oxbow pellets, stacking cups to fling dramatically, and foraging mats with hidden snacks are all huge hits with this boy. Better still, rearranging his set up every few days keeps him intrigued, all without spending a dime! You're life & home will never be boring with this little guy. If you like to laugh & are finding it hard to find those joyful moments-this boy will fill that void for you.

Apple has excellent litter habits. He reliably pees in his litter box, which is lined with pelletized bedding from Tractor Supply (the same pellets used by our rescue). They’re absorbent, help neutralize odor, and minimize cleaning time so you can get back to watching HIM.

Apple would thrive in a home where someone works from home, reads, games, or simply enjoys having a tiny, comical coworker nearby.

If you want a rabbit who treats your living room like a stage and you like your companionship from a respectable distance, Apple is ready to perform.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue for HIGH RISK rabbits. Most have been confiscated by animal control or from other life and death situations. Our bunnies were forgotten, neglected, or worse. These bunnies have been through some nightmare situations.

Adoption includes:
* spay or neuter
* RHDV vaccination
* vet and health care given during foster as needed
* good bunny behaviors and socialization addressed during foster

We've saved their lives, nurtered them back to health and help them to trust humans again. They're now ready to find their PERSON. They're ready to experience what BUN LIFE is meant to be, and to show you how much entertainment and love they can give. If you're interested in applying for adoption or becoming a foster, we're here to help you every step of the way.

PLEASE NOTE that due to the volume of rabbits coming in directly from animal control, WR is NOT able to take in owner surrenders. We WILL try our best to help you through whatever issues you are having so that you can keep your rabbit as a beloved companion pet. DO contact us for advice!
