Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hoss! 🐾💛
Hoss is a 1-year-4-month-old brindle Bulldog mix weighing about 55 pounds, and he is truly the definition of lovable. With his big smile, wagging tail, and affectionate nature, Hoss is a happy-go-lucky boy who just wants to be close to his people.
This sweet guy is incredibly loving and cuddly—he’ll happily snuggle as close as possible and would give nonstop kisses if allowed. He enjoys walks, loves playing fetch in an open field (especially with a toy he can really chew on), and has excellent house manners. Hoss does wonderfully when left alone during the day, calmly napping—often curled up in the spot that smells most like his person.
Hoss is very well trained, listens to simple commands, and is eager to please. He may pull a bit on walks and can get overly excited around other animals, so he’ll do best as the only pet. For this reason, Hoss is looking for a calm, adult-only home with NO dogs, NO cats, and NO kids.
🐾💛 If you’re searching for a gentle, affectionate, loyal companion who loves cuddles, naps, and quality time with his humans, Hoss could not be more perfect. He’s ready to bring joy, love, and devotion to his forever home.

More about this shelter
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.
As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
