Meet Leia: The Sweet and Spirited Shepherd Mix!

Leia is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! At 59 pounds, this clever and goofy girl will keep you smiling with her quirky “woof woof” monologues and entertaining antics. While Leia loves to play, her true passion is cozy naps—and she’s ready to find a home that will shower her with love and let her thrive.

Rescued at just 2 months old after being dumped in a dangerous Houston neighborhood, Leia and her sister were lucky to be taken in by kind-hearted people. She’s been thriving ever since, mastering tricks like house training, Sit, Shake, Leave it, and working hard on her “Stay.” Now, Leia is looking for her forever home!

Leia is a playful and affectionate pup who loves wrestling with her sister, going on walks, and enjoying peanut butter popsicles. She’s also a bit of an opera singer, serenading you during mealtimes or when she’s in her crate and needs a potty break! While she can be a little shy in new situations (like at the vet), her determination shines through as she bravely faces the world, all for the chance to be with her people and her favorite toys.

Leia is a true sweetheart who will fill your life with endless kisses and devotion. She’s ready to join a loving family that will embrace her gentle spirit and support her as she blossoms into the confident, courageous dog she’s meant to be.
Leia is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and dewormed. She is currently being fostered in Texas but is available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest through transport.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please be as thorough as possible. Our goal is to pair you up with the perfect dog for your lifestyle

2.
Interview

Within 10-21 business days we will contact you via email if we have additional questions or to schedule a phone or Zoom interview

3.
Home Check

A member of the Doggedly team with visit you in your home (or virtually) to ensure it is the best fit for the dog

4.
Meet the Pet

A member of the Doggedly team will meet your family and your prospective pup either in a neutral area, the foster home, or your home

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

If you and the Doggedly team feel this is a great fit, you will sign the adoption contract to finalize and initiate the trial period

6.
Pay Fee

When you sign the contract you will also pay the adoption fee - which is refundable during the trial period minus any transport fees

7.
Take the Pet Home

Trial period begins - we require that you keep in close contact with your coordinator and follow the decompression/integration protocol

Additional adoption info

After the trial period Doggedly will still be available and actively involved in the dog's life, if at any time you need assistance or to return them we will be there!
