My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fritz is a 1-year-old Husky mix who was e-listed for being scared and shutdown in the shelter. He was overwhelmed, scared to be touched, and unsure how to interact with people—he needed more time than the shelter could offer. We saw a sweet, gentle boy behind his fear and now that he is in a foster home, he’s showing that with love and patience, he may slowly begin to trust and open up. Fritz is still very cautious, but his progress has been steady and hopeful.

Fritz is still skittish in his foster home, especially with fast movements or unfamiliar people, but he’s coming around on his own terms. He enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to play with them in the yard. He’s still too nervous for leashed walks and won’t take treats from a hand just yet. Like many young pups, Fritz can be a bit mischievous—he’ll steal recyclables, counter surf if given the chance, and has done some furniture damage. With some basic puppy-proofing, a structured routine, and continued guidance, he’s learning what’s okay and what’s off-limits. He recently made a big breakthrough by sleeping on his back, belly up, just a few feet from his foster. It was a quiet (but hopeful!) sign of trust.

Fritz will thrive in a calm, patient home that will set him up for success and give him plenty of time to come out of his shell. He has shown a clear preference for women over men which will play a large role in finding his forever home. He would do well with another confident, friendly dog to help him feel secure and teach him the ropes. A yard for him run and play, and a space that can be “puppy-proof” are very important for Fritz’s success. He hasn’t interacted with children yet, but based on his behavior, a home with kids 7+ who can respect his space would be fine. He’s not a dog who will immediately seek cuddles or affection—but he clearly wants to be loved. With the right person, Fritz has the potential to become a loyal, loving companion.

Additional adoption info

We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit organization located in the Phoenix valley that specializes in the adoption and placement of Siberian Huskies. We accept owner surrenders and strays, and treat dogs with specialized medical needs, or those that have just become homeless, preparing them for adoption into a permanent home! All dogs are made current on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and neutered before being placed.
