Charlie was rescued by ZAC's Mission from a less-than-ideal past as a stud dog in a puppy mill. But those days are long behind him, and he's ready to embrace a future filled with love, comfy beds, and all the gentle pets he can handle. He's a quiet soul who prefers a calm environment, content to gracefully explore the yard at his own pace. In fact, he's quite the adventurer – he even charmed the socks off volunteers by confidently climbing platform stairs, just to prove he's still got it!
This big lug is incredibly sweet and takes treats with the utmost care, a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He's been known to win over everyone he meets with his calm demeanor and affectionate leans. And good news for those with furry residents: Charlie has shown he can happily coexist in a home with a large, female dog!

Adoption application, home visit, vet and reference checks are mandatory. You must come to meet the dogs, most likely in NJ, with all household members. Adoption contract and adoption donation are required. You will be asked to sign a legally binding adoption contract. Our adoption donations are sliding scale depending upon the age and circumstances of the animal of interest.
