My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is a one-eyed, ear-tipped, tri-colored cat-toy chaser looking for her forever home. After living on the streets for many years, Rosie took quite kindly to the pleasant life of an indoor cat as she recuperated in our house after surviving a dog attack last October. She’s a curious and cuddly girl who loves to fall asleep on your lap, and her meows and mmmraps are so funny–she sounds like a croaking frog! Her super-fast reflexes and street smarts make her excellent at chasing after wand toys with little fluttering bird-like attachments. Rosie has been a constant source of joy and triumph as we’ve watched her open up to and even ask for love from us humans.

Of course, as a reformed street cat, she does have her quirks! She enjoys getting pets, but she’s also particular about where she wants to be touched and for how long. She also needs to be queen of the house–she will not share a house with other cats or dogs!

Rosie’s the perfect companion for anyone who wants a loving furry friend, who will respect her boundaries, and who will take the time and care needed to get her comfortable in a new and unfamiliar home. She is cuddly, curious, independent, lazy, and playful.

Rosie Mountain is 7-8 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.

Adopt 2 cats and save $25 off the total adoption fee

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
