Meet Terrance, a brave 2-year-old Pit Bull who’s been through a lot but is healing and hopeful for a brighter future. Terrance arrived with severe wounds from an unknown source, but thanks to loving care, he’s on the mend and ready to find a forever family who will give him the love and safety he deserves.
Terrance is a gentle soul with a resilient spirit, eager to move past his tough start and share his loyalty and affection. He’s looking for patient, understanding adopters who will support him as he continues to heal and thrive in a calm, loving home.
If you’re ready to open your heart to a courageous pup who’s ready to trust again, Terrance is waiting to meet you.
Hear what Terrance's foster has to say about him!
"Terrance came to stay with us in early July. He came with wounds on his ear and side. BTR told us they thought that he was abused - burn wounds. He’s all healed up, but so far, his scared skin hasn’t grown hair(!)
He’s very smart and he discovered how to open his crate! He knows basic commands - “sit, wait, ok, treat, get a toy”. He’s potty trained and uses the jingle bell to let us know when he needs to go out. He likes car rides and has been known to jump into parked car open windows!
As a strong 55 plus pound guy, he sometimes ignores people and his dog sisters physical boundaries and will butt his big head into us or try to sit on us.
He’s allergic to chicken. It causes diarrhea and his skin to itch. We’ve been feeding him Purina Pro Plan and that seems to agree with him. He doesn’t mind showers but does not like his paws touched.
Terrance loves to be a snuggle-bug with his people, especially on the couch but sometimes doesn’t want pets while snuggling.
He walks nicely with the “Easy-Walk” brand harness (which we will give his new family) along with a leash on his martingale collar - just in case we see another dog. Terrance is highly reactive when he sees other dogs. He gets along well with his dog-sister who is timid and submissive. He would probably get along with a similar personality dog or be a single dog.
He loves long walks and a good game of tug. He likes chew toys and balls and can entertain himself tossing his big blue ball around the house and chewing on tennis balls.
We would love for his new family to be familiar with bully mixes and have no children, or teens and older."
