Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is BLACKJACK and I'm so excited to tell you all about myself. First, and it's a big surprise I'm sure, I'm not a lab. My foster mom says not to worry because lab lovers have the biggest hearts and she knows there's someone out there in lab country that has an open lap just waiting for me!
I'm about 1 1/2 years old and the cutest scruffy terrier mix that you ever did see. I'm only 21 pounds, definitely lap size. My coat is low maintenance with minimal shedding. Just a bath and nail trim and I'm good to go.
My early life wasn't great, in fact it was touch and go for a while. I came from a hoarding situation and not everyone got rescued. But I'm BLACKJACK and I'm a lucky pup! Some kind people took me in and did all my vetting. I learned what it was like to be loved and valued.
The other day, I told my temp foster momma to deal the cards again because I'm so ready for my forever home. Guess what? BLACKJACK! An ace of hearts and a king of diamonds! BLACKJACK winner takes all! I felt like I won the lottery when A Lab For Life said come on, we can find you the home you've always dreamt of.
When you first meet me, I may show off a little terrier sass and bark like I'm a tough guy. Don't let that fool you because I'm a sweetheart. Could you be my person to love me forever? I'll bring you good luck because I'm a lucky guy.

More about this rescue
A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.
ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
