My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Stanley was brought in by their previous owner on July 8, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Stanley, a distinguished feline looking for a loving new home! Stanley can be a bit shy initially, and appreciates some time to open up at his own pace. Once he feels safe, he loves to lounge around in quiet perches and observe his kingdom. He prefers naptime over playtime, making him a great fit for calm, laidback households. Stanley absolutely adores being brushed, and will purr and run circles in celebration. He's not much of a toy player - like we said, he's distinguished - and is content to relax on his own. He may not be coming up to you for attention (unless he's hungry of course) but he's happy to receive gentle pets when you offer! If you're looking for a quiet and independent feline companion, Stanley could be the one for you!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
