My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, DOB May 27, 2020

Buddy is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants snuggles. It took him a couple of days to accept treats and pets from his foster parent, but it soon became clear that he is a people-oriented cat that enjoys following his humans from room to room asking for pets and cuddles. He will headbutt your hand to let you know that he wants scritches, and he will turn into a purr machine and flop onto his back if you pet him long enough! He likes to sleep in your bed at night and sometimes even snuggle under the covers.

Buddy would do well in a home where he can spend time with his humans and receive the love and attention he craves throughout the day. He is not a big fan of anything that separates him from you and would prefer to have access to all rooms that you spend time in. Therefore, he can get a little stressed when his humans go away on trips or if they leave the house often, so he would do best in a home with humans who don’t need to travel for work, and at least one person who is a homebody.

Buddy has been learning to communicate his boundaries and will gently let you know when he’s had enough pets for the time being. He can also get jumpy when there are loud noises like traffic, vacuums, hair dryers, etc., so he would do best in a quieter home, especially one without children.

Buddy is definitely an explorer and would thrive in a home that could provide a cat tree, window space, and plenty of chances to play with his favourite wand toy. Because he is so curious, his new owners will also have to watch the door when they come and go, as Buddy is often eager to see what’s outside!

It is unknown how Buddy would behave in a home with other animals, but a single-pet household would likely be the best option for now.

If you’re looking for a cuddly, affectionate friend who will stay by your side and show you love, Buddy might be the cat for you!
