Meet Osa — A Spirited Heeler Mix Ready for Adventure and Affection
Osa is a 1-year-old, 18.8-pound Heeler mix bursting with energy, curiosity, and heart. True to her breed, she’s smart, active, and always up for a challenge—both mental and physical. She’ll thrive with an adopter who understands the Heeler mindset and can give her the structure, activity, and attention she craves.
Osa is making great progress with housetraining and is almost there. While she tolerates her crate—especially when it's in her foster parents’ bedroom—she’d much rather be out and about, close to her people. A fenced yard is a must, not just for her high energy but also because she doesn’t like to potty on a leash or tie-out.
She loves toys, bones, and curling up in your lap like she’s a 5-pound pup. She enjoys playing with other dogs, though she can be selective—sometimes ready to play, sometimes ready to be the boss. She hasn’t met young children, but her foster believes she’d do fine with respectful kids, especially as she’s still learning how to keep all four paws on the ground.
Osa is described as friendly, outgoing, confident, adaptable, playful, happy, and loyal. Her foster mom says:
“She loves to be up close to her people and being the center of attention.”
Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
