My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One ordinary day at the sanctuary, a wooly Sibe strutted down the driveway. No tags. No chip. No call. No appointment.

We were like... hey buddy, you’re not supposed to be here. But he flopped down dramatically and claimed his territory anyway.

Was he a stray? Was he dropped off by an undercover floof dealer? We'll never know. What we do know is that we looked for an owner, filed his stray hold with animal control, and when no one came? Hank the Tank was officially ours.

Now fully vetted and legally in the H-E-A-R-T program, Hank is looking for his forever home. He’s 2 years old, a sturdy 56lbs, and boasts the kind of hair that deserves its own zip code. We’ve been slowly untangling the wooly chaos and restoring him to his former floof glory.

Hank likes to play with and boss around his dog friends but wouldn’t mind being an only pup as long as he gets ALL the hooman attention. If you’re ready to welcome a dog with zero story but tons of hair, Hank might be your guy.

Hank is located in NC but can be transported within the Eastern US for adoption.

More at huskyrescueteam.org

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Additional adoption info

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
