My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Gary, a 4-year-old black and white gentleman with a soft heart and a silly side (once you get to know me). At first, I might hang back and take things slow; I like to scope out the scene before diving in. But give me a little time and a quiet hello, and I’ll be your best buddy in no time.

Once I’m comfy, get ready for the goofball to come out. I’ve got quirky little habits, a love for head scritches, and a knack for making my humans laugh when they least expect it. I might even roll over dramatically for belly rubs (no promises, it could be a trap).

If you’ve got a calm home, a kind heart, and a soft spot for sweet, slightly shy cats with hidden comedy gold, I think we’re a purrfect match.

Let’s be weird and wonderful together.

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
