Meet Izzy – A Heart of Gold in Every Way
Izzy is a breathtaking 2-year-old red Golden Retriever with a soft, silky coat, kind soulful eyes, and the gentle spirit the breed is so beloved for. She weighs around 55 lbs and is the definition of sweetness—trusting, loving, and eager to be near her people.

Despite a tragic past, Izzy’s resilience is nothing short of remarkable. As a puppy, Izzy was given as a Christmas gift to two young children by a man who would later become violent. This man used Izzy as a tool of fear and control, threatening to hurt her in front of the children to silence them, and even assaulting their mother when she tried to protect her sweet pup.
Thankfully, the mother bravely escaped and got her family to safety, with their abuser behind bars. Out of deep love for Izzy, she made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her so Izzy could have a chance at the peaceful, loving life she deserves.
Izzy is now ready for the next chapter of her new life.
Izzy has been in foster care in Houston, Texas for several months and is quite a remarkable pup. She is gentle, sweet, kind and has learned to trust and love humans. In her foster home, Izzy has flourished into the gentle, affectionate girl she was always meant to be. She is fully potty trained, house trained, and has excellent indoor manners. Izzy is fantastic with dogs, respectful with cats, and very sweet with children. She shows no lingering signs of trauma—only gratitude, loyalty, and a big heart full of love. , Izzy can be guarded around unfamiliar males at first, but is won over easily with a soft approach, treats and praise. This girl is all love, and is looking for the perfect family to spoil her and love her for the rest of her days. In return, Izzy will return all the love and companionship to your family as a loyal family member.
Izzy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, and current on flea and heartworm prevention. She’s in excellent health and ready for a fresh start.

Interview
Within 10-21 business days we will contact you via email if we have additional questions or to schedule a phone or Zoom interview

Home Check
A member of the Doggedly team with visit you in your home (or virtually) to ensure it is the best fit for the dog

Meet the Pet
A member of the Doggedly team will meet your family and your prospective pup either in a neutral area, the foster home, or your home
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
If you and the Doggedly team feel this is a great fit, you will sign the adoption contract to finalize and initiate the trial period
6.
Pay Fee
When you sign the contract you will also pay the adoption fee - which is refundable during the trial period minus any transport fees
7.
Take the Pet Home
Trial period begins - we require that you keep in close contact with your coordinator and follow the decompression/integration protocol

After the trial period Doggedly will still be available and actively involved in the dog's life, if at any time you need assistance or to return them we will be there!
