Candy Pawp came to us from an accidental litter in Bakersfield, an area that is severely struggling with an animal overpopulation crisis. Sadly, puppies like her often end up in overcrowded kill shelters or dumped as strays. Luckily, a rescuer stepped in and brought her and her brother to Shelter Hope.
At just 5 months old and 14 pounds, this adorable Chihuahua is a sweet blend of playful energy and gentle charm. She may take a moment to check out her surroundings, but it doesn’t take long for her to dive right in. Once she feels comfortable, Candy loves to run, chase, and show off her adorable puppy zoomies. She’s curious, fun-loving, and an overall happy baby girl. She’s also great with kids and loves to play with other dogs.
Candy Pawp is vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to grow up in a safe, loving home.

The appointment is a meet-and-greet at our shop at the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks. If you choose to adopt, the process is completed with an adoption fee and a signed contract.
Adoptions include:
- 10% off training at Zoom Room Thousand Oaks
- A free day at doggy daycare at Barks N' Rec
- A free grooming at Indiana Bones
- A free check-up with Slaton Veterinary Hospital
- A free 30 minute visit from Valley Pet Sitting
- A free collar, tag, harness & leash
As well as all the vaccines they've had thus far, the microchip, and the spay/neuter.
And most importantly, the lasting reward of saving a life and welcoming a new member into your family!
