My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌶️🐾 Meet Pepper – The Spicy Little Goofball Who Stole Our Hearts 🐾🌶️
Pepper’s life didn’t start easy. 💔 He was found abandoned in a grocery store parking lot with his two sisters. Sadly, they didn’t survive — but Pepper did. And this brave boy is determined to live the happiest, silliest, most love-filled life possible. 🥹❤️
Now at 10 months old & 44 lbs, Pepper is thriving in foster care and proving to be equal parts adventurer, cuddle bug, and class clown.

✨ Pepper’s Favorite Things:
🌊 Discovering mud & water (he says it’s the Lab in him)
🏃 Running zoomies & leash walks full of exploring
🦴 Chew toys + eating sticks (sticks are life)
🎃 Frozen pumpkin treats = pure bliss
🛋️ Napping on the couch or bed like a prince
🐶 Making friends with other dogs
🐷 Meeting goats & pigs (he tried to be friends, they were grumpy)

💡 What Makes Pepper Special:
✔ House & potty trained
✔ Crate trained
✔ Friendly with people, kids, & dogs
✔ Working hard on leash manners & puppy basics
✔ Super smart & eager to please
✔ Comes with a 6-week professional puppy training package 🎓
Yes, Pepper is in his “teen puppy” phase — sometimes a little mischievous, sometimes guarding toys from dog friends — but always sweet, goofy, and totally lovable. He’s the kind of pup who makes every day brighter. 🌞

More about this shelter

Hello! Thanks for checking us out. We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue and rehab service in Tucson, AZ

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from the streets of Mexico in cooperation with other animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Our shelter in Hermosillo, Sonora, Vidas Con Causa, currently has over 150 dogs. There, we provide medical care and a loving place for them to heal before coming to the US, then we foster and work on finding the perfect fit for adoption. You can also visit the available dogs at the rescue in Mexico. Our rescue partners spend a lot of time getting to know the dogs and we know MOST of their
perks and quirks!

We help special needs dogs, the amputees, the pregnant Pitties, the MexiMutts, those from small independent shelters who don't get much notice, the cancer patients. We provide round-the-clock care until these dogs are ready for rehoming.
