My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Valkyrie, aka Valley, Val Pal!

Valley is the perfect example of how dogs that are under stimulated become a menace. She has all the go go go of a Dutch Shepherd, and all the bullheadedness and tenacity of her bully counterpart.

Originally from Fl, Val was part of a large hoarding/neglect case, and came into a rural shelter with over 10 other dogs. And there she sat, emaciated, bored out of her mind, and all wound up with nowhere to go.

After getting on a transport up to SC, she went through foster after foster until we got this girl into a 5 week board and train- where she absolutely killed it! She learned basic commands, had a ton of public exposure, and learned to love structure and boundaries. We also discovered per love for sports! This girl has tackled weight pull and FastCAT with not only no issues, but overall exuberance!

She is unfazed by the public, is social social social with people- including kids- and loves her chosen doggy play friends! On that note; Valkyrie is large, intense, and loud- this is a combo that many dogs do not like. Valley is not a candidate for a home with small dogs, cats, or dogs that are overly dominant or submissive. Meet and greets are a must to make sure everyone gets along.

Val is the definition of a 'do it all' dog, and she is SO easy to handle once she's done it! On a consistent schedule of training and enrichment, she is calm and docile inside. This is not the dog you leave in your house with no crate and no exercise- unless you're prepared to come home to a mess!

To the wrong home, Valley seems like "a lot," and to her perfect home, someone that is in love with bullherders and their unique blend of traits, she's your next titled sport dog and treasured companion, waiting to take her place at your side.

More about this rescue

Red’s House Rescue Network is a working breed rescue based out of Greenville County SC. Our primary focus are breeds that are “too much,” the breeds that deteriorate quickly in shelter environments, and sometimes have a bad rap. These dogs are capable of being incredible members of society, as pets, sport dogs, and working partners. RHRN has placed dogs in IGP, PSA, Service Dog, & Police Department homes, among others. We also of course have lower drive dogs that make wonderful pets.

We aim to place all of our dogs with basic manners/OB in place, and we are a forever asset to our alumni’s- for any issues or needs post adoption, we will ALWAYS help, and we will ALWAYS take our dogs back if there is a need. Once an animal passes through Red’s House, they’ll always have a home!
