Lyric is a 1-year-old German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix with a joyful spirit and a heart full of hope. She has spent half of her short life in the shelter, but she’s never let that dim her enthusiasm for life! Each day, Lyric greets the world with affection, excitement, and a happily wagging tail. This sweet girl is super friendly and loves being around people. She knows how to “sit,” takes treats gently, and is very food-motivated—making her a great candidate for continued training. Lyric enjoys using her nose and happily sniffs and searches for hidden goodies like a little detective on a mission. Playful, energetic, and bursting with personality, Lyric is always ready for her next adventure. As with any dog, a meet-and-greet is recommended to make sure it`s a good fit! All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
