My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Indy — The Independent Spirit with a Survivor’s Heart

Indy doesn’t need the spotlight—he’s perfectly content just being near the people he trusts, quietly reminding you he’s there.

Meet Indy
Indy is Rusty’s devoted brother, and they must be adopted together. Like Rusty, Indy is calm and low-key, but he’s also more independent—happy to do his own thing, yet never far from his favorite humans. He’s around 2 years old and looking for a peaceful home where he and Rusty can finally relax.

Personality & Quirks

Aloof but Loyal: Indy doesn’t beg for attention, but he’ll quietly follow you from room to room, keeping a watchful eye.

Gentle Companion: Loves lounging in a sunny window or flipping upside-down for a nap.

Quiet Life Required: Not a fan of roughhousing—he prefers calm over chaos.

Particular About His Potty: Open litter box only, scooped regularly. He’s litter box trained but may have accidents when stressed, so laundry piles and cluttered floors aren’t a good fit.

Indy’s Backstory

Indy’s start in life was nothing short of miraculous. Found at the same manufacturing plant as Rusty, Indy was discovered with his neck caught in steel fan blades—dangling, losing consciousness. The fact that he survived is a testament to his strength. Now, it’s time for him to live the quiet, safe life he deserves.

Special Notes
Indy has a history of bladder crystals and should remain on a special urinary diet to help prevent future flare-ups. This is an easy, manageable routine for a committed adopter.

Why They Need You
Indy and Rusty are bonded brothers who lean on each other for comfort. Rescue life, with its constant changes and new cats, is too stressful for them both. They are available only through a foster-to-adopt arrangement so we can help ensure their transition into your home is smooth and successful.

Ideal Home for Indy & Rusty
Quiet environment without young children or loud commotion

Patient adopters willing to respect their boundaries

Regular litter box maintenance (open boxes only)

Space for window lounging and birdwatching

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a pair of resilient, gentle souls, Rusty and Indy are ready to meet you. Begin the foster-to-adopt journey today and watch as these brothers finally find the peace they’ve been waiting for.

IMPORTANT: An application must be filled out and approved before we make special arrangements to meet a cat/kitten. Feral Today Friend Tomorrow adopts to homes that are best fit for the animals’ needs, not on a first-come, first-served basis.

As all our foster cats are in private homes, we require an approved application before setting up a meet and greet. You can submit the application online. https://nc.feraltodayfriendtomorrow.org/apps/forms/s/gCAw2F8CKyXipcGNLFagK7s7

More about this rescue

Our mission is to socialize and prepare abandoned, relinquished, or un-housed cats and kittens for permanent homes via our foster network. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats in the Metro Detroit Area through TNR to help homeless cats live happier, healthier lives.

Feral Today Friend Tomorrow began with one cat who was lost, alone, and hungry 3 years ago. She promptly told all of her friends about us. Now we are working to help cats and kittens throughout Oakland and Wayne Counties. Feral Today Friend Tomorrow provides foster homes and adoption services for those in our care. Feral Today Friend Tomorrow prides itself on providing loving and compassionate care for all kinds of cats, from neonatal kittens, feral cats who want to transition to a new indoor lifestyle, spicy seniors and all those in-between.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on appropriate vaccinations, and chipped prior to being adopted to their forever homes.
