My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie is a 10-year-old Anatolian Shepherd–Golden Retriever mix whose world was turned upside down when her owner had to surrender her due to homelessness. Despite everything, she’s still a happy, go-with-the-flow kind of girl.
Dixie loves car rides, treats, and being around people—especially kids. She’s housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash, has great manners, and is fully vetted. While she’s not a fan of other dogs or cats, she absolutely adores her humans and is ready for a new beginning filled with love and stability.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based and volunteer-run rescue, with a small sanctuary space for senior dogs who are unadoptable or in need of lifelong hospice care. Whether they’re with us for a short stay or for the rest of their lives, they are family.

We specialize in saving senior dogs who are often the first to be passed over and the last to be helped. Our dogs come from:

Scary, overcrowded shelters where they’re at high risk of euthanasia
Homes where their owners have passed away or entered long-term care
Situations of neglect, abandonment, or urgent need

They may come to us broken, scared, or sick—but they leave knowing love, safety, and peace.
