My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Hi, I’m Stormy…

My name fits my past, but I’m ready for sunshine. I’m a 3-year-old, 26lb Miniature Schnauzer mix girl looking for someone who believes every storm deserves a rainbow.

Life has been rough. You may have seen a post about me needing surgery and having my spleen removed. The vet thinks a car hit me. But thanks to these wonderful FCCR ladies, I am now healed, and I’m ready to find my forever home.

I am still a little nervous and new people make my heart race because I’ve learned that not everyone is safe. But here’s my secret: once I trust you, I become your shadow, your most loyal companion, your girl FOREVER. I’ll follow you from room to room, sleep on my own little bed right next to yours, and show you what true devotion looks like.

I have good house manners (mostly!), though I get a little excited sometimes. I LOVE treats (who doesn’t?!) and enjoy walks on my leash but need some training. I am not good with other dogs - I need space to be myself.

All I need is patience, love, and someone who won’t give up on me while I learn to trust and blossom. I promise – with your love, I’ll flourish into the most faithful friend you’ve ever had.

Could you be my person? Could you be my forever home? You can submit an application for me through the rescue website, www.floridacockerrescue.org.

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
