Hi, I`m Edie. I was brought into Feral Cat Coalition in March 2025 with severe facial injuries. My right eye had to be removed. I am sweet, purry, and love to be pet and play with toys. The only thing is I have a condition called Feline Hyperesthesia which means I experience heightened sensitivity to touch, particularly along my back and tail- I exhibit this with episodes of skin twitching and rippling. Sometimes I get overstimulated by pets and may nip or swat at you, but I don`t mean anything by it. I give lots of hints when I`m getting ready to tell you I`ve had enough.

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
