Freddie is a sensitive soul who’s still learning that people can be kind. Likely a former stray, she relies on the presence of other dogs to feel safe and confident in her surroundings. Submissive and sometimes anxious, she doesn’t have an ounce of meanness—just a tender heart waiting to fully trust.

Freddie takes her time warming up to new people and will thrive in a patient home that lets her adjust at her own pace. She’s currently anxious in a harness and not yet comfortable with a collar, but she’s making steady progress with gentle guidance.

Once she feels secure, Freddie blossoms into her true self—a silly, playful girl who loves toys, zoomies, and snuggles. She’s non-destructive, full of energy in the mornings, and happiest when she can romp and run with canine friends.

With time, consistency, and love, Freddie will reward her people with joy, laughter, and endless affection.

Home Checks are done for dogs only.

We get all vet information so we can perform a Vet Check.

Meet the Pet

Cats are usually met in our adoption facility and dogs are met at an adoption event or with their foster.

Approve Application

Sign Adoption Contract

The fee is paid at the same time as signing the contract.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We require an application to be submitted. We will call your landlord, if applicable, and your veterinarian. We will visit your home prior to placing a pet with you to ensure as perfect a match as we can. Applying for a pet does not guarantee adoption. Our adoption fee is $100 for cats and $250 and up for dogs. We have a Senior to Senior adoption program - all pets 7 years of age up may be placed free of charge to a qualified senior citizen (age 65 and older).

All HOPE animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All HOPE animals are tested for heartworm, , feline leukemia, etc. and have been vaccinated as appropriate for the pet's age and species.

More about this rescue

We mainly rescue dogs and cats from local Animal Shelters/Control when those facilities are overcrowded. Our adoptable cats are located in our H.O.P.E. Pet Adoption Center in the Wilton Mall and dogs are in individual foster homes.

We have educational programs for children and adults about choosing a pet and the responsibilities of pet ownership, and safety around animals.

We welcome volunteers for any of these programs or for our fundraising committee.
