My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Bear
Breed: Lab/Bully Mix | Age: 6 years | Size: ~60 lbs
Traits: Kid-loving, dog-friendly, affectionate, house-trained

Bear is one of those dogs who loves hard and deeply. A true people-dog, he absolutely adores kids, lights up when meeting new friends, and wants nothing more than to be near his humans. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow and expert couch-snuggler, Bear is your guy.

On leash, Bear can get excited when he sees other dogs (and sometimes cats)—not out of fear or aggression, but pure enthusiasm. With calm introductions and guidance, he does well and truly just wants to say hello. He’s playful when it’s time to have fun, but at heart, Bear is a cuddle-first kind of companion.

Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccines, house-trained, non-destructive, and does best with a consistent routine. He’s on a low-dose anxiety medication that simply helps him feel his best and navigate day-to-day life with confidence.

This sweet boy has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for someone to choose him. If you want a dog who will adore you with his whole heart and be your constant companion, Bear is ready. 🐻💙

More about this rescue

We mainly rescue dogs and cats from local Animal Shelters/Control when those facilities are overcrowded. Our adoptable cats are located in our H.O.P.E. Pet Adoption Center in the Wilton Mall and dogs are in individual foster homes.

We have educational programs for children and adults about choosing a pet and the responsibilities of pet ownership, and safety around animals.

We welcome volunteers for any of these programs or for our fundraising committee.
