My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoe is a 3-year-old Husky mix with a heart as big as her personality. She's never known anything but backyard breeder and shelter life, until we intervened and brought her into our sanctuary. She’s the proud mama of the little family we rescued from the euthanasia list from Polk County, GA. Zoe is the most social of the bunch! From the moment she arrived at our sanctuary, Zoe made it clear: she’s here for the love, the snacks, and the spotlight.

Affectionate, attentive, and always ready for a hug, Zoe is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the room. She gets along well with other dogs, but she’s definitely a boss lady—confident and not afraid to speak her mind. Because of that, she’d thrive in a home without other alpha dogs. A sweet, submissive male companion could be a great match, or she’d be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only.

Zoe’s past may have been uncertain, but her future is looking bright. She’s ready to trade sanctuary life for couch cuddles, backyard zoomies, and a family who adores her for the strong, loving girl she is. If you’re looking for a dog who’s endured and overcome, and is now ready to see the world in a new light, Zoe might just be your perfect match.

Zoe is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. She's being fostered at our sanctuary in North Carolina. She's available for adoption in the eastern US and transport can be arranged if needed.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
