Meet Nika

At just 11 months old, Nika arrived at one of our partner shelters as a stray suffering from painful entropion in her left eye. But this bi-eyed beauty didn’t let it slow her down for a second. Her eye has since been surgically repaired, and now she’s joined our program, ready to find her forever home.

Nika is so friendly and everything fun. She’s pure Husky puppy—playful, energetic, and bursting with personality. She loves other dogs (and we mean loves), and she’ll thrive in a home with young, playful canine companions and plenty of space to romp. A securely fenced yard (6 ft minimum) is a must—this girl can fly over shorter fences without breaking stride.

Her joy is contagious. Spend five minutes with her and you’ll be smiling too.

Nika will need a savvy owner who understands the Husky mindset: smart, mischievous, and always on the move. She’s not a couch potato, and she won’t do well left alone for long stretches. If you work full-time out of the home, she’ll need an outlet like doggy daycare to keep her happy and balanced.

She’s 100% sweet, 100% fun, and 100% ready to start her next chapter—is it with you?

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
