My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Austin 🐾
Born 1/23/2025 | 32 lbs | Cuddle Monster & Toy Enthusiast

Austin is a sweet, silly, and social pup who’s still figuring out the world 🌎 —but doing it with wide eyes and a wagging tail. 😍 He’s friendly with strangers, adores kids, and has a whole lot of love (and energy!) to give.

This curious boy is learning the ropes of home life—like how counters aren’t snack buffets and toilet paper isn’t a toy 🫣 (though he’d respectfully disagree🤭). Austin is fully potty trained!

Austin’s crate isn’t his favorite place, but with a treat and a blanket over the top, he settles in quietly. He’s leash-friendly but definitely a sniffer, so walks are full of exploration. 🧐 He’ll bark at dogs from afar but is all sniffs and no drama up close.

He’s playful, vocal, and always ready for a game of tug or a zoom around the house. He’ll gently jump to say hello (we’re working on it!) and sometimes mistake kid toys for his own, but he’s learning fast with redirection. 😉

Austin thrives with active humans who enjoy outdoor time, play sessions, and a good cuddle afterward. 💙 He’s cute, quirky, and full of heart—and he’s ready to find a family who’ll love him through the learning curve and celebrate his wins along the way. 🙌 Austin is a curious and adventurous pup who’s always ready to explore! 🧐 He would love a home with a physical or invisible fence, as he enjoys spending time outdoors and needs a safe space to explore.

Ready to meet your new best friend? Austin’s waiting with a toy in his mouth and a sparkle in his eye.

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
