My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile:  Jasper is a 2-year-old, 7 lb Chihuahua mix (maybe Poodle or Terrier with that hair). He is a sweet little dude that was adopted but sadly returned to the shelter when his owner did not have permission to add a dog to the household. Jasper is friendly with other dogs and people, and we don't think it will take long for someone to scoop up this pint-sized pooch!

Foster Update: Jasper is a ladies man, a small dog with a big personality who will benefit from strong leadership. He’s playful, affectionate, walks well on leash, and LOVES being a lap dog. He bonds closely with his people and enjoys cuddling and attention. Jasper also has a dominant streak and isn’t shy about trying to be the boss, especially around other male dogs. He can get jealous and has shown signs of small dog syndrome, including separation anxiety and tantrums when he doesn’t get his way. That said, he’s respectful of female dogs and female humans and has been making progress with training focused on rewarding calm behavior. Jasper is a fun, smart, loving dog who will thrive with a confident adopter who knows how to lead.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
