Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gloria is a very sweet girl despite her painful history. Prior to coming to ANLOL, Gloria experienced a traumatic accident that resulted in part of her tail being pulled off. Once we pulled her into our program, one of our wonderful vets performed several surgeries to repair the extensive damage and an amazing foster family has been caring for her through a very tough healing process. She is now almost recovered and has gained weight and strength and we can see her cute personality that the pain once masked!
Unfortunately, due to her accident Gloria is experiencing nerve damage and unable to control her bowels. She is just unaware of when it is occuring. It is uncertain if she will ever regain this function or if this will be a permant consequence of her accident. She does appear to have been house trained at one point and does urinate outside. She has adjusted well to wearing a diaper inside at night.
Gloria would be a great outside dog, with proper shelter from the elements and a doggie playmate. She loves to play and is great with dogs of all sizes. She also loves to lay in the sun and nap. She is learning to fetch and enjoys getting her ears and belly rubbed. She appears to ignore cats. She does get excited and is learning not to jump when greeting her humans. She is about 3 years old.
Her tail is in the final stages of healing, but her foster mom will happily show you how to take care of her while it finishes healing.
She is looking for a home that can love her and accept her for who she is.

More about this rescue
A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
