My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shaggy is a not-quite-one-year-old (7 month?) pup with A+ mannershes fully potty trained, great with other dogs, and absolutely adorable with kids. Cats, however he thinks they might be a toy? So a no cat home is best.

This little gentleman walks beautifully on a leash, plays happily with his toys, and has only chewed things hes supposed to. (We love a respectful king.)

And his ears? Pure comedy and pure charm. One stands at attention, the other does whatever it wantsup, down, half-mast its a whole personality.

Though he looks big in photos, Shags is actually a compact 29.5 lbs and about 19 inches tall, and somehow manages to curl himself into the perfect lap-sized cinnamon roll every time.

If youre looking for a loyal, goofy, snuggly sidekick, Shaggy is your boy, but we strongly recommend that he have a canine playmate to help with the transition.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

Go meet their pets

Most of our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
