My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello world! I`m Petra. I`m a very special girl that requires a very special home to match! I`m learning a lot here at TCRAS and enjoy meeting new dogs - some of them are lots of fun! Some of them are a little intimidating to me. I`m willing to give most dogs a chance though! Walking on a leash is a new novelty for me but I`m getting better about it. I`m also learning that people aren`t all that bad, although I prefer the company of other dogs.

If you`d like to learn more about me or think you might be my extra special home than call TCRAS at 719-686-7707 and make an appointment to meet me!

Additional adoption info

To adopt:
All adoptions must be done in person. Visit the shelter to meet the adoptable animals you would like to consider. TCRAS is open 6 days a week, please see hours of operation.

Your visit with each animal will be assisted by a trained adoption specialist to answer questions, address concerns and to help you decide if the animal is a good fit for your home environment (i.e. children, other pets, specific needs, etc). You can also bring in your current pets to do a visitation (this may be required with certain animals).

In the year 2000, the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) was formed and continued under this leadership to the present day. Our shelter is a small, rural shelter. Every year, over 800 lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and cats get assistance from TCRAS. We do not euthanize for time or space.
