My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Once a shy colony cat, Miette has transformed into a loving young mama with a heart full of quiet strength and gentle charm. At just over one year old, she came into foster care with Safe Haven, and two months later, she surprised everyone by giving birth to three beautiful kittens. Despite her young age, Miette has proven to be a nurturing, devoted mother—not just to her own babies, but also to her adopted son, Oreo.

Miette is a classic tuxedo beauty with bright eyes and a soft voice. She may be slow to trust, but for those who give her time and space, she reveals her affectionate side. She adores chin scratches on her terms, and if you're not giving her enough attention (or food!), she won’t hesitate to politely meow her request.

While she doesn't like to be picked up and will hide if she feels cornered, Miette has made amazing progress in foster care. She’s food-motivated, vocal, and deeply appreciates a calm, predictable environment. She gets along well with other cats and respectful dogs who understand that boundaries are important.

Miette is looking for a special someone—an experienced cat owner or foster to adopt scenario. Ideally someone who understands feral behaviors and appreciates the quiet companionship of an independent feline. She’s not a lap cat, but she’ll be your loyal little shadow, calling you for pets when she’s ready, and warming your home with her presence.

If you believe love is earned, not rushed—and you cherish the quiet victories of building trust—then Miette might just be your perfect match.

Our Adoption Process

We have a clear and well-structured process in place to find the best possible homes for our animals in need. This process begins with you filling out our pre-adoption questionnaire designed to collect important details and insights from potential adopters and answer any questions you may have. Once complete, we move forward by setting up a visit for you to meet our cats in person. One of our Adoption Coordinators will provide a tour of our facility and introduce you to our available cats. Our adoption coordinators have extensive knowledge of every cat and can help answer questions about individual personalities, habits, and special needs. Should you decide to choose a specific cat during this meeting, we then schedule a home visit to deliver your new pet, ensure it’s a safe and suitable environment, and provide a care kit for the new pet. To support a smooth transition, we also make a follow-up call about a week later to see how everything is going to ensure both the adopter and the cat are settling in well together.

Go meet their pets

Please contact us at adopt@azshfa.org for information on our wonderful kitties. Interested adopters should complete an Adoption Request Form located at https://www.safehavencats.org/site-visit-form-1

An adoption volunteer will be in touch with you after review of your pre-adoption questionnaire. We will then set up an appointment to meet our kitties at the shelter.

We do not do same day adoptions.

More about this rescue

Safe Haven for Animals was founded in late 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter, with the mission of providing as many cats as possible with a safe and happy home, preventing untimely endings to their lives. There is no time limit on any cat's stay, ensuring that euthanasia is a last resort reserved only for those whose health conditions are irreparable. The core purpose of the organization is clear: to save the lives of cats. The joy of the shelter comes from the adoption process, where our goal is to unite each cat with a loving family, thereby enriching both the lives of the animals and the people who welcome them.
