MARLEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Marley and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Dec. 14th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Kensington (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!
Name: Marley Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of December 2025 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 66 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Marley is Looking For: He’s not just looking for a home—he’s casting for a lifelong co-star. Whether it's spontaneous zoomies or soulful stares that melt your heart, Marley’s ready to be your comic relief, cuddle buddy, and loyal companion in every chapter to come.
If you’re ready for laughter, loyalty, and tail-wagging adventures—adopt Marley, and let your love story begin.
What My Foster Says About Me: Marley is one of the sweetest boy you could ever meet. He is a gentle giant, loves his dog friends at daycare and at the dog park. He doesn't pull too much on the leash, is super food motivated, and sleeps in his crate at night without making a peep. He will even go into his crate when you point at it and sometimes sleeps in there during the day with the door open. He rarely barks and the only time I've heard him bark is at the park when playing with his friends (but I'm pretty sure he learned that from watching another dog!) He can be a little scared in new situations or with loud noises, but will follow your lead with some encouragement (treats help too!) Marley is honestly one of the best fosters I've had in all the years I've been with Lucky Dog, and he is going to make an incredible companion for a very lucky adopter.
Heartworm Information: Marley is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Marley has completed this activity restriction period.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
