Rufus is a fun-loving shepherd mix (75 pounds), just over 4 years old, with a lot of love to give. This charming boy just loves to make you smile. He’s goofy, clumsy, and loves humans, wanting nothing more than to lay down next to you (or on you). He likes to play, sometimes, but if the opportunity to cuddle up on the couch with his human is there, it’s a no-brainer.
He knows to sit, lie down, wait, touch, and can pick up tricks in such a short time! He’s also already crate and house-trained, and does well on a leash. He does well with other dogs, but can play rough, so he needs a proper introduction to dog friends.
Rufus would do best in a home with shepherd breed experience. He would thrive in a suburban or rural home.
Rufus is a medium-energy dog who enjoys cozy home life, and will need daily long walks and adventures with his humans.

The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/
From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.
