Autumn Don`t you just love the beautiful sunny days in the fall? The leaves sparkle red and yellow. The air feels fresh and cool. The nights are cozy under a blanket. I was named after the fall season. It was partly because of my pumpkin-colored coat and jade-green eyes. It is also because I am a beautiful girl. I have lived with my owner all my life. I am now 5-years-old and weigh 9.1 pounds. I am one of the 2 out of 10 female orange cats. That is rather special. I was given to my owner by her friend. Although she loves me, she can no longer afford to keep me. My former owner says that I have been a very sweet-natured cat with her. I use my litter box consistently. I am easy to redirect if I do something you don`t want me to do. I have not gotten along with other cats. I have tolerated the dogs I`ve lived with. At the HSHC, I live in the Catio, which provides me with ample space and plenty of sunbeams for napping. When the interviewer lady (IL) came in to see me, I came out of my Kitty Kasa so I could sniff her. I roamed around a bit, watching the cats next door and people walking by the windows. When she called my name, I went up to her and rubbed against her, requesting pets. I felt calm and friendly. I let her rub my head and ears. I sniffed her pencil as she recorded our visit. If you would like to provide me with a happy life, please consider offering me a home. 12-9-25

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
