This helps Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
Bodie is a stable 2 year old Belgian Malinois with a heart full of curiosity and a nose for adventure. He’s needs a home where he can stretch his legs, receive mental stimulation through consistent obedience, play tug-of-war, chase toys and shower you with tail wags and squeaky toy joy.
Why Bodie’s a Fantastic Find:
Tug-of-war champ who drops on cue and knows how to earn his reward
Obsessed with squeaky toys but will happily trade them for treats
Knows sit, down, come, heel (with auto sit!), release cues like “Free” and “Yes!”
Treat-motivated and gentle—takes snacks with enthusiasm but no teeth
Curious, friendly, and instantly affectionate with new people
Calm around other dogs through fences in the shelter
Given how calm he has been with dog interactions through the fence at the shelter, we think he will be fine with other dogs with appropriate introductions
Ideal foster would be someone with some breed experience, and no kids or older, dog savvy kids – he may be fantastic with younger kids but we cannot test him for that as an incoming dog in a shelter.
Great candidate for nose work or search & rescue—he’s got the drive and the sniffer!
Bodie is a dream Malinois - He’s eager to learn, loves to please, and doesn’t demand constant attention. He’s independent, affectionate, and just the right mix of playful and chill.
