Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT WHEN REQUESTING AN APPLICATION!**
10-2-25: "WINSLOW's my name and havin' fun is my game! Hey everyone, if you are looking for the best family dog around, well look no further, here I am!! Let's start with how I got to this rescue-I had a great home when I was a puppy, but as life goes sometimes, it was not a good fit for me. Another great family took me in, and we all were so happy, but they knew they could not keep me, as they already had their dog limit before I arrived. They loved me, and I them, so they reached out to CFAW and here I am!! I'm not really sure what breed I am, but my Foster Mom says that I am the cutest mixed breed boy, who is 2 years old (DOB 6/3/23), neutered, current on my vaccines, HW-, weigh 32 pounds and am micro chipped! My house and crate manners are that of the perfect gentleman, and I do love dogs my size or smaller--I do not like them bigger than me! I am not a fan of cats, so I need a home without them please! A fenced yard, oh if you have that, I will just be in heaven, as I like to run and play! My leash manners are good, with some slight pulling, and I love the squeaky toys--those are my fav!! I am good with children of all ages, so I will make the best addition to your family!"
"If I sound like the perfect match for you, email my Mom at citizens4animals@yahoo.com for an application or if you have any other questions!"
"Have the most PAWSome day!"
LOVE,
WINSLOW

We ask all potential adopters to fill out an application for adoption which is sent to them as soon as an inquiry is received. The application is reviewed, and the applicant's vet reference is checked by phone. If the applicant does not have a good vet record, the application is denied. If the applicant is renting a home, we ask for his landlord's name and phone # and check to make certain the applicant is allowed to have a pet. If there are any concerns regarding the application, we bring them to the applicant's attention and ask for clarification. This is done before the applicant meets the pet. We then set up a meeting at a mutually convenient time and place. If the applicant wants the pet, we ask for a check made payable to CFAW at the time the applicant takes the pet. The adoption donation is held for 3-5 days during which the potential adopter can decide whether (or not) he wants to permanently adopt the pet. If he decides not to adopt and returns the pet to us, his check is returned at that time. There is also a Pet Adoption Contract which basically states that the adopter will take good care of the pet. This is signed by both parties.
