My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mouse may be the sweetest, happiest pup you will ever meet! Since gaining his freedom from shelter life, his tail is always wagging with love and appreciation for your attention.

In the house, 4 year old Mouse is very sweet and calm. He loves to snuggle on the couch, on the bed, or curl up in his dog bed while his foster mom works. Despite being 60 lbs, he thinks he's a lap dog and will lay his adorable head in your lap as you watch a movie or read. He's also always up for a round of tug-of-war with his rope toy, and he'll entertain himself with squeaky toys. When it's time to eat, he sits politely to wait for his food. He is also very gentle with both his toys and treats. Mouse REALLY appreciates a kong stuffed with peanut butter or pumpkin. He likes to watch the world go by out the window and rarely barks; however, the trash truck is his enemy. He's also fully housebroken, super treat motivated and a master of "sit."

On walks, Mouse is generally a loose leash walker and will check in with you frequently. He's game for longer walks and a wonderful companion on hikes or exploring the far reaches of the neighborhood, but he's also satisfied with only a short walk or two per day if the weather is bad. Sometimes he likes to bring a toy on his walks and will carry it in his mouth the whole time--it's adorable. Could you be the forever family Mouse has been dreaming of?

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
