My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoey – Your New Best Friend   Zoey is a sweet, 4-year-old  mix weighing around 65 lbs. This loving girl was rescued from a heartbreaking situation in Philly in May 2022, where she was found tied up to a street pole and left behind. Since then, she’s blossomed into the most loyal, affectionate, and snuggly companion you could ask for.  Zoey adores all people; kids, adults, and anyone ready to share some love. Her favorite things in life? Cuddles, belly rubs, and being your personal heating blanket. She just wants to be close to you.

What makes Zoey special:

  • Fully leash-trained and responsive to commands
  • Amazing with people and kids
  • Sweet and affectionate
  • Crate-trained and housebroken
  • Up-to-date on all vaccinations and vet care

She does have some food sharign issues.   Her current family has invested in professional training, and with consistency and awareness, her food guarding is manageable.

Her current owners love her deeply.  . They are simply looking for the safest, happiest environment for Zoey to thrive in, one where she can be the center of attention and soak up all the love she deserves.

If you're looking for a dog who will love you endlessly, cuddle up beside you every night, and be your most loyal companion than Zoey is your girl. Please reach out if you're interested in giving Zoey the loving home as she truly is one of a kind.

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
