My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tinkerbelle!
This precious girl was sadly dumped on the road, but thanks to a Good Samaritan, she’s now safe in our care—and ready to sprinkle a little magic into her forever home.
Tinkerbelle is sweet, curious, and wonderfully snuggly. She adores couch cuddles, plushy toys, and a good game of tug-of-war. She’s fit right into her foster home with three dogs, two cats, a teen, and even a toddler—so she’s already proven what an adaptable little lovebug she is!
She’s currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment, which means she’ll need a home committed to keeping her on monthly prevention. Don’t worry—this brave girl doesn’t let it dampen her spirit one bit. Plus, we cover the heartworm treatment even after adoption!
House manners? She’s doing great! She hasn’t had any accidents in the house, and although she may have one in her kennel if not let out often enough, her foster has already seen significant progress. With continued consistency, she’ll be fully house-trained in no time.
Tinkerbelle is truly a gem—sweet, snuggly, and ready to charm her way into your heart. If her foster family weren’t already at capacity, she’d be a forever dog for sure. That’s how special she is. 💖To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
