My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Lucy – A Gentle 11-Year-Old Basset Hound–Terrier Mix

Lucy is a shy, timid and sweet senior girl who recently came to Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue after her owner entered hospice care. She and her brother, Ricky, have spent their entire lives together in the home but unfortunately, they were not in the best situation.  They were regularly hit as a disciplinary method.  ❤️

Lucy is the quieter of the pair, she is timid and flinches when you raise your hand to pet her. She’s gentle, calm, and enjoys spending her days lounging in soft blankets or quietly following her foster mom around the house. Life has recently changed a lot for her, and she’s still learning to trust and feel secure again. With patience, kindness, and love, Lucy’s sweet personality continues to blossom a little more every day.  She is potty trained but does occasionally have accidents.  We would like to keep her with Ricky, but it is not required.

Adoption Fee  $300

More about this rescue

We bring in the senior dogs and medically needy dogs.
We are a small rescue making a difference in the world. No dog deserves to dumped in a shelter after giving their entire life to a family.

I had locked myself away from the world back in 2010. I saw this tiny ShihTzu on the news that had been saved from a puppy mill bust. I adopted Princess Reagan Marie and she saved my life. I wanted to help other dogs so I started fostering. In May 2021 I open my rescue.
