My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Fig – Your Calm & Loving Companion 🌟

At 5 years old and 54 lbs, Fig is the definition of an easygoing best friend. 🤗 She’s a gentle, well‑mannered pup who has blossomed beautifully in foster care and is ready to bring her calm, steady presence to a forever home. 💞

Why You’ll Love Fig

• 🛋 Chill vibes all day long – Fig is happiest lounging by your side, snoozing peacefully, and soaking up the quiet moments.

• 🐾 Leash pro – She’s wonderful on walks!

• 🏡 Perfect house manners – No accidents, no chewing, no destruction. Fig is respectful of your space and routine.

• 🐕 Crate progress – She’s improving with nighttime crate training and already does great when left alone during the day.

• 👋 Friendly greeter – Fig has done well meeting new people and enjoys calm introductions.

What Fig Needs

Fig thrives in a calm, adult or teen household where her boundaries are respected. While she’s shown minimal resource‑guarding behaviors, her foster notes that these are environment‑based and rarely seen. In the right home, she’ll simply be the relaxed, loving dog she’s proven herself to be. 🥰

The Heart of Fig

Her foster describes her as “easy, loving, and wonderful to have around.” After nearly a year in care, Fig has shown she’s more than ready for her forever home. 🩷 She’s the kind of dog who will quietly fill your home with warmth, companionship, and joy.

✨ Fig isn’t looking for excitement — she’s looking for peace, love, and a family who appreciates her gentle soul. Could that be you? 😍

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
