Frankenpup is a sweet, affectionate boy who truly shines in a home environment. He’s house- and crate-trained, incredibly smart, and very food motivated — he learned sit and down in just one hour! He thrives with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, and he genuinely wants to do the right thing.
Like many young, under-guided dogs, he’s still working on a few manners. He can be jumpy and mouthy when he’s excited and he isn’t shy about “talking back” when he’s first put in his kennel. But the best part? He responds beautifully to calm, confident leadership and has already made huge improvements with clear expectations and routine. He settles in the kennel after about 30 minutes and will snooze the day away until he’s let out again. And with calm structure and lots of treats his jumpiness and mouthiness and basically zero.
The honest truth: Frankenpup hates shelter life and doesn’t show well in his kennel so he’s been overlooked a lot. He is extremely stressed which triggers the bad behaviors-the jumping and mouthing. But the good news is- in a home environment that’s calm and quiet where he can relax and just be himself he is a completely different dog. Habits are hard to break, but he is excelling at breaking those bad habits with the help of calm patient guidance from his people and lots of good snacks.
He does well with rough-and-rowdy dog friends and would love an active family who will continue his training, take him on adventures, and then let him snuggle up at the end of the day — because underneath that goofy energy is a total cuddle bug.
If you’re looking for a smart, eager-to-learn companion who will blossom with guidance and love, Frankenpup might just be your guy.
