My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bailey was brought in by a community member on September 16, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Bailey is a friendly, kind-hearted dog who's ready to steal your heart! She has a gentle, affectionate personality that makes her easy to be around and quick to connect with. Curious and excited, she brings smiles everywhere she goes with her wiggles and wags. Bailey enjoys receiving pets and attention and being near people. She walks well on a leash, is housetrained and treat motivated. She's a lovely companion for someone looking for a loyal friend who brings warmth and happiness wherever she goes. Don't forget to bring a leash and collar when you come to meet her!

At SDHS:
Bailey has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
