My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we first met Dolly at the county shelter, our hearts shattered. This sweet, weary mama had clearly endured so much—the story was written in her frail body and those soulful, searching eyes. We knew in an instant that she deserved a second chance, and we were determined to be the ones to give it to her.

Since arriving at the sanctuary, Dolly has truly blossomed. With patience, tenderness, and the comfort of safety, she’s transformed into a joyful, thriving girl who is finally ready to find her forever home. Dolly is currently in a professional board and train program with our wonderful partners at Connected Canines, where she’s learning skills that will help her feel confident and secure in a loving home. Her trainers are absolutely smitten—one even jokes that Dolly gives them “heart eyes” every day.

At 6 years old, Dolly is a calm, loving Pitbull mix with a quiet spirit and the gentlest heart. She is fully vetted—spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped—and she carries herself with a soft grace that immediately draws people in. Dolly is one of those dogs who simply feels like home. She greets her people with a tender gaze, a slow wag of her tail, and what we affectionately call her “cold kisses”—gentle little nuzzles that melt hearts on contact. Everyone who meets her falls in love, and we know the perfect family is out there waiting to do the same.

Dolly has waited so patiently for the love she’s always deserved. If you think you might be the one to make her dreams come true, please fill out an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. It would be our absolute honor to introduce you to this beautiful girl.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees vary between $165-$350. That includes all medical vetting, UTD vaccines, spay/neuter, lifetime microchip, an escape proof harness lead and collar & tag. Also, since some our dogs are such a huge flight risk, there may be additional steps needing to happen before the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
