My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willy is a sweet and very smart five-month-old (DOB around May 2025) puppy who is looking for his forever home! He was found as a stray in the woods of East Texas when he was just a baby. His foster family got him in the car, and he whined and howled the whole ten minutes home; thus, he was named for William Shakespeare because this boy brings on the drama! To this day, he remains a very talkative pup. This silly boy is extremely intelligent and learns new commands and skills very quickly. He enjoys puzzles because they wear out his busy brain! Willy is very food-motivated, so training is simple as long as there are plenty of treats involved. He does need to be kept occupied so he doesn't get into trouble, much like any puppy. Willy does great with other big dogs, and he'll wrestle with and chase his canine friends all day long. He's untested with smaller dogs, but he would probably be great with any pup over twenty pounds. He does have a significant prey drive, and though his recall is pretty good, he's not fabulous around cats or other prey animals. His ideal home is an active one that will get him plenty of exercise and that will offer activities to engage his brain. He would do wonderfully with one or more canine companions, too, as long as they're also energetic and playful. Willy is housetrained, crate-trained, and knows some basic commands. He's still working to complete normal obedience training, but he has a good start! He weighs 40.2 pounds as of the middle of October, but he's still a growing boy. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Willy, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
