My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is a sweet and loving girl with a heart full of sunshine and a deep love for her people. If you're looking for a loyal companion, Charlie is your girl!

She’s happiest when she’s by your side, whether you're relaxing on the couch, sharing your day (she’s a great listener!), or just enjoying some quiet company. Charlie loves to cuddle and proudly claims the title of big spoon. Her favorite place is snuggled up close.

While she may be a little shy at first, a few kind words and tasty treats are all it takes for her gentle, joyful personality to bloom. Once she opens up, you’ll see the playful, affectionate side that makes her impossible not to love.

Charlie is more than just a pet; she’s a true friend who brings warmth, comfort, and a whole lot of love into every room she enters.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
