My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Otter! 🤎🐾

Otter is a 3-year-old, 45 lb hound mix with the sweetest face and the gentlest heart. This handsome boy is as friendly as they come—loving, easygoing, and always happy to be near his people.

Otter has that classic hound charm: curious, affectionate, and a little goofy in the best way. He enjoys walks, sniffing adventures, and cozy naps after a good play session. He’s the perfect mix of playful and calm—just an all-around great companion.

He’d love a home where he can be part of the family, go on adventures, and get plenty of love and attention. Whether you’re heading out for a walk or curling up on the couch, Otter will be right by your side. 🤎🐾

Otter is ready to find his forever home—a place where he’ll be loved for the wonderful, sweet boy he is! He is in training at the LCSO Cell Dog Program. Please call 239-332-0364 to schedule an appointment to meet him!! 🐶💖 🖤

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
