Here's what the humans have to say about me:
At 4 years old and 60 pounds, Mia is the perfect blend of snuggly and spirited.💕
With her smooshy face, soulful eyes, and gentle nature, she has a way of melting hearts wherever she goes. Mia’s story began on a busy highway, where she was found wandering alone, but that chapter is behind her now. She’s safe, loved, and ready to begin the next part of her journey in a home of her own.
Whether it’s curling up by your side for a nap or joining you for a long walk, she’s always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. She’s also a smart cookie who has been learning new commands here like a total pro! Mia also has the potential to live with another dog!
If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, loving companion to make your days brighter, Mia is waiting too, and she can’t wait to meet you. ✨
Come meet her at:

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
